Transeuropa Open Ghent
Commoning Sport and Leisure
Commoning Sport and Leisure
Transeuropa Open Ghent’s workshop will bring people together across sport/art/activism fields around the theme of the commons, exploring the concept through a best practice in football. KAA Gent is the first and only club in Belgium, and one of the few around Europe, to have taken a commons approach to ownership, governance and structure. We will explore this commoning practice through the lens of sport to get us all thinking about the commons in and beyond the field of football. Out of these discussions and sessions, we will document the Voetbal in de Stad model as an example of a best practice as part of developing a ‘SPORT Commons’ publication.
